Day 6
Today we drive from Lexington, NC to Chapel
Hill by way of Rural Hall.

We started the day by visiting the Richard
Childress Racing museum. Much of the museum is dedicated
to the late Dale Earnhardt. This car his significance to
Nancy and I because we watched it win at Talladega in October
of 1999.

For Dale Earnhardt fans, this is a special car. Though
we didn't see this race in person, this is the car that
finally gave dale the Daytona 500 win that he tried for
so long to get.

We drove to Rural Hall, NC to shoot the Yadkin Valley RR.
This is the only engine we found at their shops. Looks like
#9552 is getting a bit of a nose job.

Do you remember Mt. Pilot from the Andy Griffith show?
This is it. Well, it is Pilot Mountain. Close to the base
is the town of Pilot Mountain. Interesting.
