REGIONAL SHORTLINES SPECIAL |
Georgetown Railroad Co.Photo taken in Lufkin, TX, September, 1996 The Georgetown RR main engine house is the only place in our railfan travels that we have ever been chased away from a public road by a security guard. It was easier to leave than to argue with the guy. I found out a year or so later that the GRR had been part of a development of some conveyor belt cars used for unloading rock/ore/balast. Maybe they were protecting their secrets. Anyway, we were fortunate to catch these GRR engines sitting in the yard in Lufkin, Tx. Look at the Angelina & Neches River page for the Shortline we were in Lufkin to find.
